La Paz – Valley of the Spirits – Palca Canyon – Palca – La Paz (center)

During this exceptional excursion you will get to know the natural part of La Paz, just next to the city with outstanding views of both, the city on the one hand and the natural geological formations dominated by Bolivia´s second highest mountain, the impressing ¨Illimani¨ (6438 m) on the other hand.

After leaving the hotel in the morning with a private vehicle, we will cross the city of La Paz heading to the south where you can observe the change of climate and the style of construction of the houses until you reach the Valley of the Spirits, a place that challenges your imagination, generating the sensation of being in another planet with its incredible formations, the product of erosion, rainfalls and glacier melting thousands of years ago.

This geological landscape of great magnitude, which forms the top of the mountains of the southeast of the city with its eroded rock formations grouped in rows and clusters show hundreds of peaks or spiers that rise to great heights; some of them resemble musical organs of giant pipes and others look like petrified souls. The vegetation is sparse, mostly grasses with low shrubs.

After walking around approx. 2 hours in this amazing landscape and taking beautiful pictures we walk back to our car and head down to the entrance of the Palca Canyon, closed to the village of ¨Uni¨ near the valley of the spirits, where we will first enjoy our box lunch to charge energies before we continue the hike (approx. 2 hours) through this breathtaking canyon, a group of monumental rock formations up to 200 meters high that leave in the middle a plain that, like an avenue, crosses the canyon in all its extension of 4 km., finishing at the height of the village of Palca.

At the end of the canyon our vehicle awaits us to bring us back to the hotel in the city of La Paz, take your last incredible photos of the canyon and the majestic Illimani, which seems to be so closed (-/Bx/-)  –END OF OUR SERVICES.
