Uninhabited island Bartolome day tour
Option Bartolome: When you arrive at Bartolomé, you will disembark and begin a short guided walk of just 800 meters following a trail that will take you to one of the best views of all the Galapagos Islands. To get to this viewpoint, you will climb 115 meters above sea level, and about 400 steps, but believe me, it will be worth it.
From there, you will see the famous Galapagos pinnacle, all of Bartolome Island and part of Santiago Island. If the day is clear, you will even be able to see other more distant islands such as Marchena and La Pinta. In just one day, you will have seen the panoramic view of the surrounding islands.
Charles Darwin Foundation and Giant Turtle Breeding Center
A visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station is an opportunity to learn about Galapagos conservation in action. Today the principal attraction for visitors to the Charles Darwin Research Station are the baby tortoises that they raise in captivity. You can also see giant tortoises & land iguanas, as well as checking out interesting exhibits.
The main attraction at the Charles Darwin station is the Fausto Llerena Breeding Center. Here the stars of the show are the giant tortoises, reared in captivity until they reach an age where they can be introduced into the wild. Adult tortoises from various subspecies roam in large corrals.
Tortuga Bay
Tortuga Bay beach is renowned for its vast and unspoiled coastline, gently sloping into the glistening waters of the Pacific Ocean. It offers an ideal setting for those looking to catch some waves and try their hand at surfing, or simply unwind and bask in the sun alongside the fascinating Marine Iguanas.

Sierra Negra volcano
Our adventure begins in Puerto Villamil, as we embark on a journey to the trailhead. After preparing our backpacks, we venture into the young and ever-changing forest, which bears the brunt of constant geological activity. Along the trail, we encounter various bird species like Darwin’s finches, flycatchers, mockingbirds, and occasionally, the Galapagos Gavilan.
Our ultimate destination is the rim of the Sierra Negra Volcano’s crater. This active volcano last erupted in June 2018, leaving behind a fresh layer of lava in the already harsh landscape. Standing at the crater’s edge, we are treated to breathtaking views of both the crater itself and the surrounding volcanoes. The crater is immense, with a diameter of nearly 10 km at its widest point.
Continuing our hike, we ascend towards the Chico volcano, a secondary crater boasting a captivating landscape. Active fumaroles and impressive lava formations serve as silent reminders of the island’s geological history, providing a truly remarkable experience.
Biking & wetlands
The bike tour begins at the beaches of Puerto Villamil. As we pedal towards the wetlands, we will see various lagoon birds such as flamingos, royal terns, and gallinules. Additionally, we will encounter mangrove forests, lava cacti, and other typical plant species of the Galapagos Islands.
We will continue the journey along the Love Beach and El Estero Tunnel. During this route, we may also catch a glimpse of Galapagos giant tortoises in their natural habitat.
Finally, we will arrive at a significant local historical site: the Wall of Tears.
